Where to go in 2017 for 1st Family Hols abroad in Term Time?

Our LA has just agreed to let parents take DCs out of school for 2 weeks with no fines for holidays. Never taken DCs abroad before. DC1 refusing to go as it means flying, so he will have to stay with EXH, but am determined to take other 2 DCs somewhere,
Any ideas for 1st holiday abroad?

What time of year are you thinking of going, what do you like doing and what sort of budget do you have? Are you happy cooking on holiday or would you want to eat out or at the hotel? Sorry inazzalefam - loads of questions there but will help people suggest something good for you lot! Wish our local authority was taking the same approach - you're lucky!

Cyprus, avanti beach village. Lovely, lovely and safe book direct with Susan and get your own flights.
We saved £500 on thomsons doing it that way.
Susan arranged a taxi for us...only 25 euros. Met us in the airport lounge.
Lovely big water park up the road from the hotel too.

Dowser we are booked there for October! Fab to hear u liked it. Any good tips for local restaurants/ beaches?
We always take dcs out of school and go to Florida op, love it.

What a shame one of your children won't be coming, why don't you drive to France so all children can go? Or get ferry to Holland, Norway etc or go on a cruise? Seems mean to exclude one child from the first family holiday
