Johannesburg this week - weather, must sees etc?

I'm off on a work trip this week. I won't have much free time, but on the off chance that I have a couple of hours, what should I do? And what should i buy? I might have some time on Sunday.
And how warm will it feel?

end of 1988 to 1999 (with 6 months of 1991 spent in the UK)

No less than 5 shirts / t shirts for DS, a host of those ubiquitous bead lizards as little gifts for DS's schoolfriends who had him for tea while I was away, a couple of Miriam Makeba CDs, some bead hairbands and bracelets for neices, a bottle of duty-free vodka (oh...I'm well enough to start on that now!) some tasteful wooden salad / dip bowls and spoons, an ostrich egg for DS to pretend it is a dinosaur egg, I almost bought DS a djembe (?) from a music and drum-making project we visited but sense prevailed in time...with the 'one item of hand baggage' and all, and a decorative tin guitar made from a tonic water can.

sounds lovely - lol at the thought of you thinking of getting on the plane with a djembe!

so was the work trip to do with the theatre?

Yes -partly. And other arts initiatives. More S African travel pending, I think!
