Prague, Budapest? Elsewhere

I would like to take DD (11) on a city break and was thinking of maybe Prague or Budapest. Which one is the best/safest/most enjoyable for a child that age.

I have never been to either so would appreciate recommendations

Been to both - Prague is the prettiest city in Europe, very fairytale! Budapest has lots to offer though and open air swimming & good food. Both good for a city break. Ljubljana is very nice & def worth considering - very attractive city worth a day at least exploring then taking a bus to nearby Bled and swimming in the lake.
