oh, yes, we go there quite often. And yes, tis heaving in summer
(also combines nicely with Polesdon Lacey - NT house with lovely, kids friendly gardens)

It's heaving when Santa's there, I can tell you that!!

funnypeculiar · 03/02/2007 20:36

lordy, yes - but the little tractor ride thing to get to santa is quite nice...

SoupDragon · 03/02/2007 20:37

I love the straw bale rooms they've got for him

funnypeculiar · 03/02/2007 20:41

ahh, yes although not terribly authentically santa, I can't help feeling ... do they have snow in the artic? antartic? finland? where does he live, actually?!

SoupDragon · 03/02/2007 20:50

More authentic than the plastic snowscape and singing robotic polar bears I had to endure in the Whitgift Centre...

ive been loads of times in the summer and as its so big with so much to do never really feel its as crowded as some other places.

poppiesinaline · 12/02/2007 12:13

yes, we like it there too

It is the destination of choice for all the pre-schools round our way. It is still talked about in hushed tones by DS who had one of the best days out ever there last year. About once a week he will say "When I went to Bocketts Farm..." (Although he is only 5, I feel he is becoming a bit like my old Grandad with his stories about the war!)

Usually meet friends there but we normally go when the local schools are already back to avoid the crowds. It was deserted at the beginning of January but also pretty inclement weather and all the kids wanted to do was play inside. Perhaps they've outgrown it ? Think it is pretty expensive though - cost about £30 for me+2 kids entrance and food.
