need somewhere near nottingham for me ans DH 1/2 nights

we had to cancel our holiday to lanzarote as DH was DX with MS & a brain tumour, so we cant get insurance, we need somewhere not too far from the QMC hospital , we don't want posh but we do want good veggie food.

There is a hotel called Dakota.. all minimalist and designer-ish... but affordable.

Lovely place in Nottingham centre is Zizzi's - I'm veggie and always enjoy the food there.

Me and DH had a lovely break at a hotel on Mansfield Road once... the inn on the park I think it was called. It had a nice swimming pool and steam room etc.

Oh.. and Thoresby Hall is good... they do spa breaks. But it is a bit of a drive out of Nottingham centre.

The Jury's Inn is supposed to be nice.

I stayed at the Jurys Inn a couple of weeks ago... its ok, but budget. Food wasn't up to much if you didnt eat meat or fish

i am making notes i can't really book until the last minute as it all depends on how DH is on the day.

The park Plaza is your best bet - central and nice and reasonable

The Lace Market Hotel, right in the centre

hart's hotel is very nice (central) and their restaurant is renowned but veggie stuff limited. If you like curries some very good Indian restaurants near there - Laguna, 45500 miles from Delhi, Memsaab etc. Also Fresh in Hockley (near Lace Market) is very good for veggie stuff as is the Living Room which is very close to the Lace Market Hotel too, as are Piccolino (Fab Italian with loads of veggie things) and La Tasca (tapas).

thanks for all the ideas i am taking notes, but can't do much more at this point as DH could end up back in hospital before then
