I have been to the Oceania club which is managed by Sani.Visited the sani resort for a day.Beaches lovely.I preferred the pool at the beach hotel as opposed to the beach club. Staff are excellant ,very good customer service, they rotate between the Oceania club and the Sani hotels. If you book direct through Sani prices cheaper. Also they will collect free of charge from airport for stays of 7 nights or more.

Hi The Oceania club was fab for kids. The children's staff rotated between sani and Oceania each year.I think thier clubs were ran along similar lines.Very child friendly.Going back for 3rd year in a row.If you look on tripadvisor some reviews.

Last few questions, I promise. If you book direct with the hotel, which airline did you use and which airport do you fly into? Also, what time of year did you go. We're thinking of start of season but wondered if it'd be too quiet etc?

Thanks

Hi just saw message.
We went british airways from Gatwick. You fly to Thessaloniki airport. We have went both times in the main school holidays. However one of my friends went last May I think from about 13th. She reported weather was good, not to hot as she travelled with a one year old.She also stayed at Oceania. Both the Oceania and sAni hotels are about 30 mins transfer from airport. All the shows were on at the Oceania in May.If you are staying at Sani all the shops in harbour would be open. The websites are www.oceaniaclub.gr and www.saniresort.gr.

You may have seen my teen holiday question. Would this be a good place for teenagers? Do they have any sort of meet up arrangements? Do a lot of teens go?

marbeth · 05/02/2007 17:49

Hi motheroftwo boys.

The Oceania club is really good for teenagers.Although we travelled with an 8 year old we meet lots of people with teenagers. They run a teenagers club and they all seemed to be having great fun.Last year the teenage leaders were good. My little boy enjoyed getting thrown in the pool by them.Thet also used to take them down to the beach for water sports and there was a disco. If it is what you are after it may be worth emailing hotel as last year they only charged about 50 euros a night for extra adults over 12 sharing room.Whereas in the brochure 12 and over have to pay adult prices.I think the junior suites and deluxe junior suites can accomadate 4.

Hi - have been looking at seemingly endless forums etc about the Sani Beach Hotel and Beach Club. This Oceania Club is obviously the same organisation. Had just about decided on the Sani Beach Hotel as it is where the teen club is housed. Do you think the Oceania would be better? Is this resort in a completely different place? And this one completely all inclusive - all drinks, snacks etc. The Sani one is half board.

marbeth · 06/02/2007 17:53

Hi motheroftwoboys

The Oceania club is managed by Sani.It is about 30 minuites from Sani.It is ran as all inclusive hotel.Whereas sani beach hotel is half board. I think the beach is better at Sani. The oceania is only 3 years old so rooms are better. we have not stayed at sani just visited while we have been at the Oceania. The entertainment staff rotate between hotels and the big shows are put on in both Sani and Oceania. The head chef at Oceania came from Sani.I think it depends if you like allinclusive holidays. The Oceania market them selmselves as ultra all inclusive this includes all meals, snacks also bicyle hire, pedal hire etc.We could not fault it hence our 3rd holiday in a row. Last year we met a couple at Oceania who had holidayed at Sani. They have rebooked again for Oceania this year felt is was a good.Hope that helps.

Thanks for that! I will try and find out more. Did you go direct or through a company? When I compared prices for Sani I found I couldn't beat the price of one of the companies - Amanthus - but I don't think they did Oceania. Since then I have also been looking at Lykia World in Turkey which seems to get very good reviews. It is just so important to get it right as it is such a lot of money and we look forward to our holiday so much!

Hi we booked direct. It is worth emailing and asking about reductions for your teenagers sharing your room. The suites and deluxe junior suites are big enough for 4.As return guests each year we get a 10% discount.Have a look on the Oceania website. There is a forum on it with guest comments. I noticed on a holiday thread you have been cruising with P&O. We have been on 2 and Oceania rates just as highly for us.
