Looking for a beach hol during Oct half term. Must be hot or at least very warm. 2 adults, 2kids (11 & 9)

Only able to go for a week so realistically thinking Caribbean is out of the question.

Any suggestions much appreciated

We're going to Tenerife for the 6th October in a row Blush.
Not too long a flight, weather in the twenties, reasonably warm sea, it's all good.
Costa Adeje is a nice resort with some upmarket hotels, we stay at an aparthotel in the hills which we love, but if you want to be a bit closer to the action there are lots to chose from.
Mind you it is a popular destination and prices for October now will be pretty high as it tends to book up quickly and more so this year with people avoiding Turkey and Egypt.

We are going to Costa adeje in Tenerife in October. When are the English half term holidays?

danTDM · 02/09/2016 21:50

Schools in our area break up on 21st October and go back on 31st October.

Caribbean is fine for a week we have done it a few times, however check as it is the hurricane season on some islands then.

rookiemere · 03/09/2016 15:29

How long is the flight to the caribeean mouldy - thinking perhaps we should go somewhere other than Tenerife at some stage Grin.

mouldycheesefan · 03/09/2016 15:32

8-9 hours

Dubai is 7 hours, not Caribbean obviously but shorter flight. Have not been myself though.

rookiemere · 03/09/2016 15:42

Never really fancied Dubai myself - looks a bit like Las Vegas only hotter, but the family hotels do seem fab and a lot of people seem to love it.

AnyFucker · 03/09/2016 15:44

Cape Verde ?

summerholsdreamin · 03/09/2016 17:37

Dubai scares me a little, heard some terrifying stories from friends that have visited.

Cyprus?

sm40 · 12/09/2016 07:13

We did Dubai 2 years ago. Loved it. However we didn't really leave the hotel so were very cocooned, from real life. Lovely and warm.

Sorry to hijack, am looking for last minute October Sun/beach holiday as well - looking for the hottest place that doesn't involve going to Dubai or Florida etc as could do without the longer flight. Bored of the Canaries. Was thinking of looking for late availability in Cyprus - what is the weather realistically likely to be like in October? (we can go anytime from 15th - 30th October as get 2 weeks)
