how about Billesley Manor . it's a little bit out of the town, but an easy drive/taxi. alternatively, there are always loads of stratford hotels on lastminute.

it's been ages since i've had this much advice for anyone

Bailiffscourt Hotel in Sussex is meant to be really nice. This website has a number of nice-sounding hotels Heavenly Hotels
Alternatively, have you looked on the Marriott website Marriott ? There are a few country-house style hotels, e.g. Goodwood and Hanbury Manor, which have spa facilities. Have a great time away!

Bailiffscourt is just incredible - do try to get a room in the main house though. V expensive but bliss.
