Ibis are a chain of basic hotels with plenty in Paris some v central.
They are modern so not typically Parisian .Quiet and clean. Clinical.
Book via their w/site after looking at Tripadvisor.
Cheaper hotels will be older, v small rooms and noisy unless you go
out of the centre.
Montmatre and L'Opera are nice
BTW Pigalle is red light dis so avoid.

Ibis in Masion Lafitte is great (a little like Fulham) easy walk to RER station, nice cafes and restaurants.

Hotel de la Porte doree. Metro Just outside the door. A little bit out of the centre but lots of atmosphere if you want to avoid chain hotel. Shops and restaurants in street and bakery across road for croissants and sandwiches for lunch.
Would go back again tomorrow.

Stayed in this perfectly located Parisian apartment via Airbnb, www.airbnb.com/rooms/3407172?eluid=1&euid=5a087675-eb86-6ad9-f379-20f93227f765&locale=en&sug=51, better than a hotel, in the shadows of Notre Dame, in The Latin Quater, near restaurants & walkable to the main museums & parks. Close by the batobus. It's a simple & clean apartment; highly recommend 😊

Look at premiere classe hotels too, they are clean and have an en suite. Stayed in one just by a rer and supermarket in genevilliers which was a really good Base for sightseeing

We stayed in hotel du parc and it was lovely! Only a couple of metro stops from the Eiffel Tower and had some great restaurants on the doorstep.
