What do you think of this holiday. Is Tunisia okay in April? Dd1 wants to go somewhere to see things, not just a beach holiday. TIA!

I really like Tunisia - it's quite a short flight and yet looks nothing like Europe.

I've stayed at Hammamet which is quite beachy but even at this 'resort' there was lots to see and do. The medina's are great. Some of the men were a problem - but I was last there as a willowy single woman of about 26 years. I don't think I'd get much attention now!!

The itinery looks good. Plenty of time off for doing your own thing. I've been out there in February and needed Factor 40 suntan lotion. So pack your sunhat!

I went to tunisa in april about 7 years ago, and it was gorgeous and hot! Like Norksbride said, the men can be a bit 'touchy feely' and quite intimidating at times (i was 16 at the time, and i have red hair so they flocked to see me!!) but they are very friendly, its just a different culture than what we are used to! The market town called Susse (spelling check!) was fascinating and haggle for everything!!

Ah - word of warning on the weather - apparently Tunisia is known for either being really hot or really cold in April - when we went it was the latter and I spent the entire week in my one pair of trousers and one jumper (Packed for the flight!)
