Hi I promised kids trip Bournemouth this weekend but it's going to train. Looking for an indoor waterpark with slides, wave machine - water shoots the whole sherbang! Smilemaybe beach style - but within 1 hour drive from central London. Any ideas really appreciated. Thank you

Coral Reef in Bracknell isn't far from the M3 if I recall correctly. I haven't been there for years - my DS is 24 now, but he loved it when young.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 16/08/2016 17:58

Ooppps. Just looked on line and it is closed for a big refit.

3littlefrogs · 16/08/2016 17:58

There used to be one called AquaSplash at Hemel Hempstead.
I haven't been for years though. (DC all grown up now).

Also Thorpe Park has one but that might be too far away and maybe too expensive.

The spectrum at Guildford is good

PatriciaHolm · 16/08/2016 18:00

Thorpe park isn't indoors and the waterslides have been closed for ages. Coral reef is closed all year.

Guildford spectrum has a few slides and a wave machine, and has bowling/ice skating on site too.

Guildford Spectrum?

Mycraneisfixed · 16/08/2016 18:03

Guildford Spectrum gets really really busy in school hols and you often have to wait for 45 mins if they're operating a coloured bands system.

AlfrescoBalconyWanker · 16/08/2016 18:22

You can prebook the Spectrum online though. But it is hell in the holidays and there's something wrong with that Wimpy Grin

There's a new outdoor place in Datchet that looks really really cool.

Windsor lesisure centre, not massive but has two huge windy water shoots, a beach slope with wave machine, a rapids section, with water fall thing, water cannons. Pouring water buckets things, wide bumpy slide, and jacuzzi. Probably forgot something but you get the jist. Quite cheap too.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone - I will check Hemel Hempstead and Maidenhead which seems to tick all the boxes. Smile

Fairly sure Hemel Hampstead closed about a year ago.

SaltyMyDear · 17/08/2016 06:05

Windsor is a fairly ordinary leisure centre. It's nice if you're local but it's not a water park.

The best one is in the new forest, which is a bit further.

010816dot · 17/08/2016 09:54

Salt - what's the name of the one in New Forest ?

Hemel closed a long time ago
