Hi,
Trying to organize a w/end to meet up with my family in Durham, anyone know of anything nice but not wildly expensive, 30/31st March-1st April. Thanks

HOw about Holmes Barn near Buxton. There are also lots of places on the Cressbrook Hall website - covers all over the Peak District but I couldn't get on to it.

Thanks, it would be too expensive.

Have you tried Welcome Cottages or Cottages 4 You?

Hulababy · 28/01/2007 16:07

How many adults/children/infants?

triplets · 28/01/2007 16:18

Welcome Cottages seems to have had a few problems recently!

Also try last minute (dot com) - they use some of the cottage sites.

The website is being tweaked, but you can't book a weekend in the Easter hols with Welcome until 6 weeks beforehand (it's usually 4 weeks but they've made an exception for some reason) so the website won't show you dates until Fri 16/2.

(I work there )

Ooh, any bargains then JanH?Just had a reply from a place called BILLYS BOTHY, to die for, but £1,200 for a weekend!

Do try lastminute.com triplets, they often have C4U properties on, and if you ring through on the number they give you there is usually 5% off on anything you then book - but you have to ask for it.

However you are very unlikely to get a big property still available for a school hol weekend, unless it's a cancellation (another tip, check out the Special Offers link on C4U website regularly, there aren't any atm but when they are there it's because they've been booked and then cancelled and there will be a discount on those)

You might have more luck looking for 2 smaller places on one site. (Or changing the weekend you've picked!)

This (ref W7950, my C4U links usually fail after I've tested them!) looks like the only one which is just about big enough (more than 2 beds to a room) which is still available that weekend atm - may have gone before booking becomes possible.

I would go for a different weekend if you possibly can

It is still available, honest, it's just that because the website won't let you book it yet it doesn't show it as available.

If you change 3 nights to 7 on the availability page, the 31st turns green, which means that week is still unbooked atm - keep an eye on it, and if it's still like that after 9pm on Thu 15/2, when the booking lines close (and if you want to book it of course ) then ring up at 9am on the dot Fri 16/2. (Don't book it online, you will probably miss it.)

Thanks, will keep an eye then, night night x
