What have you found most useful? I usually take a ruck sack but mine broke last year so need something new . I can't say I've found it good or bad ! Travelling longhaul this time if that makes a difference .
I'm always the awkward one with too much stuff bumping into everyone while trying to control my kids ie get them to walk in a straight line in the right direction , I always see relaxed glamorous mums who seem to carry everything in a time hand bag !

With kids a backpack is definitely easiest.

My most useful thing is a trolley bag. It has a shoulder strap and a grip, but best of all it is designed to be put on top of a pull-along suitcase so you don't have to struggle with two cumbersome bags once you have been to baggage reclaim. This shows the sort of thing I mean, though I'm sure you could find something better. Mine has a lot of compartments too, which is always useful.
