Hi MN, can anyone recommend a nice beach, no more than 2 hours from any London rail station, I have just taken the kids to Bournemouth for a few days so not there, would prefer sand, it would just be for the day as they are having beach withdrawal symptoms, anywhere else?

Blush

I have never been able to tell my left from my right. I thought about it so carefully before I got it wrong, too. Held up my hands and pretended I was at the bandstand and everything.

Herne bay is pebbles though there's a small sand bit on the main bit of sea front. The hampton end of herne bay has the nicest bit though, quiet and just really nice. Usually a ice cream van parked by the park or a man rides by on a bike selling them. There's also the hampton Inn that sells chips etc. Bit further up is Swalecliffe which has a nice park to. :)
