Holiday while pregnant

I'm due mid-July, but we'd like to get a holiday in before then. Currenty considering taking the car through the tunnel and going to Belgium or South Holland.
This is 1st pregnancy so not sure how much travelling I'll feel like doing though and whether that's too far to want to go in the car. Probably looking at going end of April or 1st week of May, so would be about 28 to 30 weeks mark.
Any advice from those who have been through it? How far/how long is reasonable to go in the car at the stage? (I accept that it's different for each person, but any hints would be appreciated). Thanks!

Hiya, I'm 27 weeks preganant at the moment, no real experience with this but thought I would tell you how I would feel about this..

As long as your car is comfy than I would say go for it, you can stop as often as you want to stretch legs, toilet stop etc...

I'm off to Barcelona in 3 weeks, although we are flying.. last holiday before LO, so intend to enjoy it!!!

Have a great time, buy lots of cute baby clothes and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

and make sure if you eat the salad they've washed it properly, as they check for toxoplasmosis over there in regular tests, only no one tests for it over here!

Thanks geordie. I'm fairly keen to give it a go. Car is pretty comfy - we bought one that was so that we could drive in europe as I was keen to cut down on flying (before any hint of pg). And DH is a good driver, but bad passenger so I'll mostly be sitting back to enjoy the view.

You should be fine at that stage provided you have frequent loo breaks scheduled.

Enjoy and make sure you go out for lots of romantic meals out and make it a real holiday to remember.

Check insurance to see if you're covered. i know there's a limit for going through the tunnel. That said, I went to Morocco at 29 weeks with dd3, and a weekend in Brussels at about 36 weeks. Go for it and have fun!
