We are thinking about going here for next years holiday, with ds (who will then be 10), Dd1 (who will be 8) and Dd2 (who will be 4). Is it suitable? Would 7 nights be too much? TIA

We went to Porta Ventura in October 2005. We stayed in La Pineda and we could see the roller coaster from our hotel. We bought a 2 day ticket into Porta Ventura theme park -and had a fantastic time. My DD was 6 and my DS was only 2 when we went. There was plenty for my DS to do - can't remember exactly what there was - but she wasn't bored for a minute. My DS was quite happy to be pushed around. Myself and my DH spent the rest of the time going on rides on our own - which isn't as much fun - but rather that than miss out. Hardly any queues. We didn't go into the swimming park as it wasn't open when we were there. We went into the Park for 2 full days and also went back on the 2nd day at night. Went back to our hotel for dinner then drove back to the park at night. It was during Halloween so the night time procession (carnival) was a halloween theme which scared the living daylights out of my DD. Loads of characters during the day but a lot of them halloween themed. Didn't think much of Salou - a friend of ours stayed in the Porta Ventura hotel for 2 weeks and said it was absolutely brilliant. Definitely recommend.

Thanks ClareL, it sounds great. Dc's want to go to DisneyLand Paris, but I thought this might be better, less queues, better weather!!

Def suit the age of your kids,
we had one day in the park but 2 days would be ideal, water park wasn't open so another day or two could be taken up there.
Barcelona would be a good day trip if you wanted to escape .

Oh yes, I would LOVE to go to Barcelona, but preferably without the kids!!

Bottle of juice and a sandwich they will be fine in the park, just leave them , only joking.

My tip is leave the water slide coaster thing until later in the day, will be warmer, or in fact take a couple of wet weather ponchos, I wish we had we were soaked and as it was april it wasn't all that warm, last ride before getting a taxi home, DH hid in the back because we though the cabbie wouldn't have let him in. DH has boxes and boxes of flaming ponchos at work as well, buy them before you go only the park sells them over there and they cost loads.
