Well I'm here for a moan really and some ideas if you have any! I booked 7 nights on Lake Garda (first week of Sept) through Leisure Direction for a fab price - £140 for a mobile home. This was subject to confirmation but three days later I heard it's unavailable at this price, only at £350. (It's the way they work I guess.) They've offered me another park but I don't like the look of it so much (Europa Silvella) also it's 20miles away from where we wanted to be.

Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do? The idea was to have a cheap holiday so I don't want to pay double the initial quote. However, flights are booked, and it's my 30th birthday pressie and I'm kind of set on Garda. I have a ds who will be 4 by that time and we wanted the beach, mega ppol complex, water slides and proximity to the themeparks.

Ideas? Or links to other useful sites (keycamp canvas etc are far too expensive for us I'm afraid...)

Sorry that was meant to read s/c for self catering

also the park we booked (and paid for!) was Bella Italia

Hi Tamzz

We went to Bella Italia last June. We booked through Siblu - maybe you could try them and I know they take Tesco Clubcard vouchers which may help. It was a very big site - loads of caravans and tents (would you try that?) lovely pools (quite cold water in June thogh) not so many water slides that I remember. It's right on the lake which is beautiful and only a short walk to get a ferry to a different part of the lake. We spent our last night in the Gardaland Hotel which was the life of luxury after the caravan! Gardaland was great - very Italian and I am sure we were the only English people there. My 7 year old DD loved it though.

I'm pretty sure we did not pay £340 for the week so try searching for the sight because Euro Camp also do it.

Best of luck!

I posted on your other thread earlier.

Thanks guys - have a 'not bad' online quote from Siblu for Bella Italia...there are other parks but you know what it's like, you choose one because it's got the stuff you want, and I've already got myself excited about it

Leisure Direction are not returning my phonecalls or emails so by close of business today I think I will have given up on them, try to forget about the £140 price and go elsewhere.

Cheers for help!

Have a look at the parks own accomodation.

Loads of other operators do Bella Italia too like keycamp, canvas etc.

Thanks, have booked through Siblu with a pretty good price, they were v helpful and the lady I spoke to gave me every discount she could.

Thanks Skribble I looked at the site but booking through them was actually more expensive. Think I've got the best deal I could atm now I just want to forget about it for the next seven months!
