Where to stay in Florida

Looking to spend about 10 days in Florida in August

Have booked 2 nights at Hard Rock Hotel in Universal studios. Want to then chill at beach. I was lookibg at The Atlantic side round Daytona- St Augustine. Husband fancies the gulf side for bluer, warmer seas.

Where do folk love and recommend. Is clearwater area nice?

Clearwater is lovely, we stayed at Tradewinds, St Pete's beach, the waters are beautiful. Gulfside is warmer and gentler for smaller kids, but you probably won't have much trouble on that front in August. Lots of stuff to do, they try to replicate the carribean resorts so lots of activities, mini golf, pedalos etc. I believe ST Augustine is Gorgeous, Cape Canaveral is amazing, Everglades is well worth a trip too.
