beach or city?

Soapbox · 21/01/2007 01:05

City, I think.

Perhaps Florence or somewhere like that. Somewhere that we wouldn't necessarily take the children to yet, but which would be nice for DH and I to chill out for a few days

If you've got £2000 to spare - How about
this honeymoon package in Lisbon ?

tiredemma · 21/01/2007 11:14

la residencia

Soapbox, look at this site, Conde nast traveller, I've spent many a happy hour drooling over hotels on there. You can set your criteria etc so ask by coungtry etc. And then you could check on Tripadvisor for honest reviews.

WideWebWitch · 21/01/2007 11:28

They've got the gold list 2007 on there too, the world's best hotels

tiredemma · 21/01/2007 11:29

Think I need to start doing the lottery.....

meowmix · 21/01/2007 11:29

what about Budapest? there's a fabulous 1920's palace on the river there whose name I forget. Or one of the Paradors in Spain? The Alhambra?

Soapbox · 21/01/2007 14:55

Thank you all so much for all the recommendations. I've been reading trip advisor avidly all morning

I think we've decided on this one - which I got from an article on conde naste traveller so thanks for that!

this one

If you go to the website and click on suites collection - we are probably going to go for the Penthouse Palazzo Vecchio suite.

DH threw Vienna into the 'pot' this morning, which I'm having a look at too!

I think my heart is lost though thinking of champagne and canapes lounging on that lovely terrace looking out over florence

Thanks again for all your suggestions
