Hi,
Feeling really fed up and upset. The amethyst stone has fallen out of the middle of my engagement ring and i have no clue as to where it is!
Does anyone know how much it would cost to repair and where would i take it?
Its not a massively expensive ring, but it's special.

Hi possumhead,
I lost the saphire from my engagement ring a couple of years ago. I was in the bath and noticed a tiny speck on the bottom of the bath when I got out. Stupidly I wahed it away with the shower spray. It was on my wedding anniversary too. When I told my Dh he thought it was hysterical to run round yelling " we're all doomed, we're all doomed"

I took it too a local jewellers and had another stone put in. I chose an emerald just for a change and then nagged Dh to buy me an eternity ring to match

I can't remember how much it cost but as it was a tiny stone I don't think it was very expensive. Take it to a couple of jewellers and get some quotes.

Good luck

I hope you find it somewhere, caught on clothes, towel etc?
I dread my stone coming out - its tanzanite.

Hi Flower,
Men think they are so funny, don't they?
My Dh said "It'll be fine, no one will notice!"
Kind of missing the point I think!!
Thanks though I'll pop into a few jewellers and make enquiries.

My friend had a small stone replaced in her engagement ring and it really wasn't nearly as expensive as they had thought. Have you taken it anywhere to get a quote?

I think hers was around £50 - it was a very small stone and that included the repairing as well as the stone.

Burstingbug, No chance of finding it. Was at work yesterday, at school. Found it was missing in the evening, it could be anywhere + they would've hovered my classroom!!

Poo, I'm sorry. I hope you find a nice replacement stone. If the original stone does show up, you could have it made into a pendant for a necklace.
