Ile de Re and Dordogne caravan holidays

We're thinking of a twin centre holiday, with a week in each of the Ile de Re and Dordogne next summer.

Does anyone have any recommendations for caravan/lodge sites in both locations. Ive looked at Eurocamp but am just as happy with booking independently.

Try Yelloh Village. Better value than Eurocamp or Canvas generally.
High standards on sites... Located across the areas you're looking at.
Can't comment on specific locations as we've stayed in Vendee or Southern Brittany.

They're a French firm. So you get lots of continental Europeans so you'd need to parlez un peu Francais

Ile de re is lovely - we're there at the moment!!
Camping la tour des prises is nice but quite small (ie no kids club/entertainment on site). They have a range of caravan/lodges in different sizes that you can hire. The pool is great (huge and has a retractable roof in case the weather isn't good, plus a small paddling pool for toddlers). Its about a 10 min walk from the beach. It's a bit out of town but you can cycle to La Couarde in 5 mins and Ars en re in 20 mins.

we stayed on the eurocamp site at the Camping des Ilates site.

Smaller site meant it was safe for the kids to cycle around -they made lots of friends. Pool was fine - and shop and take away were good. But location wise it wasn't great - the nearest little town was fine for shopping but limited if we wanted to eat out. and the nearby beach is ok. It's sheltered and sandy so good if you have little ones- but not so much fun for older kids.

We're going back to la Tour des Prises in a couple of weeks time. Had a fabulous week there last summer too.
