Cape Cod - things to do

Have a 10 year old and a 12 year old. We have a week in Chatham. Must dos are a whale watch and Pilmouth Plantation. We want time to relax too. It has been suggested we do Pilmouth either on way to or from Boston due to traffic (we're going Saturday to Saturday) but it doesn't seem too far so wonder if doable mid week from Chatham. An hour or so drive for a day trip seems ok to me.

You could do day trips to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard from Hyannis Port which is around 20 miles from Chatham.

Definitely recommend the Plimouth Plantation - dd loved it. It was a good day out, and plenty to do so give yourselves plenty of time. We also went to the Mayflower II at Plymouth. www.plimoth.org/plan-your-visit-0

We really enjoyed going to Martha's Vineyard on the boat. The lobster was the most amazing lobster I have ever had!

We had amazing fish and chips on the coast at Baxter's Fish and Chips at Hyannis.

Provincetown was worth a visit - we have delicious homemade lemonade from young girl selling it from a little cart for a $1 in the streets.

Did you go to Pilmoth on a day trip from the Cape Hulababy or was it en route to/from Boston?

Thanks.
