We're cutting it fne but had planned a Barcelona weekend away but hubbies passport hasn't come back from being renewed so I'm thinking about Edinburgh for a few days.. I know that most good hotels are fully booked but can anyone recommend a hotel that's close to the castle etc please :)

When are you travelling and what kind of budget do you have? If there is a big event like Marathon, concert or rugby match , and for all of August then the city is choc-a-block and hotel prices sky high so can't recommend until you give us more info.

We went to Cardiff and had a great time. there is a white water rafting place plus the castle and it was a really good break. Is it this weekend you are looking at?
