Self-catering or farm / b&b accommodation near Aberystwyth

Can anyone recommend good s/c accommodation near Aberystwyth? We're planning a last minute break in late June to see some friends who live nearby, but who can't put us up (small rented place - they've no children, and we've got 2 aged 3 and 3 months!). The friends have only recently moved to the area themselves, so don't have much idea about suitable places.

Ideally we'd like somewhere pretty relaxed, with the option of evening meals or babysitting if possible.

Also, any recommendations for good things to do with children in the area? The beach and steam railway are obvious choices; dh also wants to try windsurfing and/or surfing, if tuition is available.

Thanks

This site called Childfriendly.net has details on a few places in the area:

Aberystwyth
Borth
Llanrhystud
Machynlleth

I live in the area and the places here seem to give a good idea of what's available.

As for surfing / windsurfing, I'm not aware of anywhere in the area that offers tuition other than private clubs. Maybe someone else can suggest somewhere?

Relatives have stayed here before and found both the house and surrounding area to be very nice indeed.

Thanks for the cottage recommendation = it looks lovely. We'll investigate it straight away. It's good that it does short breaks as well as a full week. The countryside looks beautiful!

The best place to learn to windsurf is bala lake, they are all set up on that lake to do that. About 1 hours drive from aberystwyth.

This company does it balawatersports
