Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in central London, something other than pizza express, tgi fridays etc, it's for me (39) and dd (15) nowhere too fancy, we just want to try some different places to eat, we went to smollenskys recently and enjoyed that

My Old Dutch in Holborn. My teens love it

PersonalSpace · 18/05/2016 17:13

I second My Old Dutch, it's an amazing pancake place.

Meatliquor if you like burgers. Don't know if you've been to Wahaca? Bao? Duck & waffles? Polentaria? Ceviche?

Thankyou, shall make notes of these places mentioned. BigGreenOlives no not been to any of those we tend to be boring and stick with what we know, but want to be a bit more adventurous, my dd can be fussy. Please keep recommending more if you can

Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly - it's fabulous and very reasonable. www.brasseriezedel.com

Thanks cat, it looks great, will definitely add that to my list

I would recommend Las Iguanas in Liverpool Street, its actually a chain so I'm sure they have restaurants in more locations in London. Its a Latin American restaurant. Great place, great atmosphere and amazing food!

Burger and Lobster (they have 3/4 branches I think). Pizza Pilgrims on Dean St is amazing, and close to the shops. Wahaca even though it's a chain is lovely.

Busabai Eathai in St Christopher's place near Bond Street, reasonably priced and yummy if you like Thai.

Tas Pide, near the Globe, though I think there are others. Turkish, and great value the couple of times I've been, and good ambience and service as well as choice.
