Hi,

We are intending to move our family to Bournemouth. Could anyone tell me about schools locally. Feel that my house search will be defined by location of good schools. Have two boys - 3 and 6.

Thanks

No suggestions (for either) - I just clicked as I thought this was an MN gathering.

Have a good time.

When we went found a great hotel on laterooms.com, but I can't remember the name!! Sorry. It was in Montparnasse and we walked everywhere. Loads of nice restaurants around it. I'll have look to see if anything rings a bell

how much do you want to spend and are you willing to share rooms?

check out Saco appartments...just google search this company. They have some amazing locations in different cities and are fairly reasonable. My mother lives in Paris so if you choose an area and want to know of some decent good priced restaurants let me know. I was there in december and we went in to one trendy bar and saw Sting and Trudy Styler! If you want to have a giggle go to the cocktail bar at the Ritz...the Hemingway Bar..amazing cocktails and some very interesting people in there!

Try the Best Western Left Bank St Germain. I use it for business regularly, but location's good and they have lots of small doubles with decent bathrooms that are good for single users. That is, you might like it if you're into flocked wallpaper and pseudo medieval furnishing. Usually get better deals via Best Western website than with hotel direct, but worth comparing.

If you check Observer travel archives, they did a great article on good (and cheapish but characterful and central) Paris hotels.
Last week or the one before.

We always use lastminute.com for hotels in Paris - they haven't given us a bad deal yet! My priority is always to be able to go out for a nice dinner and be able to walk home rather than take the metro so anywhere around the Marais is good and I have a real soft spot for the St. Michel area.
