New York - 6 months on passport?

I've read the advice - you get chucked out on expiry date if less than 90 days on passport on day your passport expires. Mine runs out in April and want to go to NY next w/e. Do I need a new passport? Should I book new one just in case??

i actually thought it needed 6 months validity but then again i might be wrong

my (old) passport ran out 26 April 2007

going to barbados 16 feb - 2nd march 2007, so befroe xmas i sorted a new one

i did it by post (not even that post office check and send thing) and i had it back within 10 days of posting! was VERY impressed
