I've just got their brochures & I'm very tempted. Any stories, good or bad, if you've used them.

Thanks

Just had a look at their website and very good prices esp if you can get your own cheaper flights, unfortuatly I can't get flights to match up where we are, not all the accomodation looks as good as the ads on TV. I am going for hoseasons as thay have properties where I can get cheap flights to.

We used James a few years ago, but - like spoogs - have been going direct ever since. They were very good for us in terms of organisation, but extremely expensive for what they offer.

yes we have used james villa, have just booked our 7th holiday with them, we booked flights separatly as it was £500 cheaper.

Have just booked this villa through owners direct.

wow that looks nice, when you going?
i have been to turkey pre kids.
i like having a villa then my three can be as autistic as they like without the stares and we can relax.
let me know what its like as it could be a possibly one for us as long as things are close by and you dont need a car.

Like you, Kickassangel, we've been thinking about using James Villas. The opinions I've gathered say that although they're expensive, they're always good quality.

we're going in august so peak price time and bloody hot but half the price of portugal at the same time where we initially were looking.

onlyjoking9329 · 14/01/2007 20:15

we went to portugal a few years back and whilst it was nice it was not much good without a car, i do drive but i don't go on holiday to drive i go to relax
are you geek girl or someone else?

brimfull · 14/01/2007 20:24

No not geekgirl ,just ggirl.

We're hoping to just hire a car for a few days out as town is within walking distance according to the owner.

Used James villas twice - once for Lanzarote, and once for Majorca. Web-site is very good, and often has more accommodation than in the brochure. We found villas to be of very good standard.
Mixed views on support in locations. In Lanzarote we had booked a high chair - the one provided was filthy, rusting and not fit to feed an animal in never mind a child. The appointed rep kept promising a replacement - we waited in but none arrived. Two days later and several phone calls, still none, though it was sorted out very quickly when we spoke to the rep's manager.
In Majorca, the rep was good and ensured minor problems were dealt with promptly.

I would use them again although they are probably not the cheapest.

Anyone going to Portugal should try 'The Villa Agency' - they were very good, very knowledgeable about their properties/ suitablility for young children, and don't charge under-occupancy if you rent a larger villa.

many thanks will probably try direct
