Would you like to add to my comprehensive packing list?

Whilst getting ready for our summer holiday, I've realised I write the same list more or less each time. So I'd like to type up a one off comprehensive list which I will laminate and reuse each year.

I've done quite well so far but can anyone think of anything really useful I should add or that I might have forgotten to put on the list?

Thank you!

Where's the list and who are you packing for?

I sometimes pack the wrong type of clothes but the only things I forget a lot are a bottle opener and my own pj,s.

I'm currently typing it up on the laptop and MNing from my phone!

It's for me, DH and DS1 (12), DS2 (9), and DD (5).

Bottle opener! Thanks Smile
I have PJs for me down.

I wouldn't bring shampoo, conditioner or shower gel - always get that wherever I'm going.

Deoderant
Perfume?

Other travel activities for DC?

Wet wipes and/or tissues - always useful for travelling with kids

Sunglasses & case

I have a spread sheet with a list for each person as well as a general list of 'stuff'! T

Obviously, it depends on where you're going, but these are on my list...

mossie repellent and mossie plug ins
adaptor plugs
straighteners
travel hair drier
goggles
sun hats
pack of cards
tea bags
Marmite
ice cube bags

EHIC healthcare cards
Pen and paper
Maps and guides
Trainers or walking shoes
Flip flops
Emery board
Plastic carrier bags (for wet things after swimming, or to use as bin bags)
Magazine

I love that Wally always takes a wedding hat, wellies and a Spanish dictionary - ready for every eventuality.
I always forget my own pajamas.
I always take antihistamine tablets, playing cards, a notebook and pen to keep my holiday diary, soluble aspirin for the migraine that I get on the first day of every single holiday I've ever been on and twice as many clothes as I actually need, except socks which I never have enough of and usually buy wherever we are.

When my children were small I used to get them to pack by drawing pictures of what they needed so a picture of a pair of socks with 7 written beside it.

For some reason ds or me often feel a bit poorly when we're away so paracetamol 😊 also best thing I grabbed when out the door on recent trip - a large scarf. Handy to cover up on beach if feel a bit sunned or if it rains (uk holiday!) diacalms or similar.lots of carrier bags to use for clothes, bin etc.

Trumpton · 03/05/2016 09:22

Photocopies of passport(s) and travel insurance.
Travel Wash. I travel alone and tend to wash underwear every day in the shower.
Sewing kit
Tweezers

I have spreadsheets for various trips then print off as needed eg 3 nights in youth hostel/1 night London / week caravan winter / summer etc

mouldycheesefan · 03/05/2016 09:35

Mine is in the laptop and I update it and print it off similar to pp depending on number of nights, location etc. 2 nights camping is different list to 2 weeks Caribbean. I also amend it when I get back e.g if took stuff didn't need or needed stuff didn't take I write that in.

One of the best iteMs I have found are cloths made by olay, you wet them and they foam up ready to use. As they are dry and very small and light they are perfect to pack and they really get the sweat/sand/ suncream off.
