Taking lots of babies to Center Parcs

Hiya! I am in the middle of trying to organise a weekend away in September for a group of 12 adults, 6 babies (all aged 10 mths) and a 9 year old. We thought Center Parcs would be a great idea, but they have just told me that one baby per lodge/villa can go for free and the other 4 will need to be included in our headcount. This seems crazy as they are so little, and it has upped the costs considerably. We expected to pay some sort of surcharge per baby and were planning to have them sleeping in travel cots in the same rooms as the parents.

Has anyone else been in this position? Does anyone know if Center Parcs are open to negotiation with the prices, or are they set in stone? Also, can anyone suggest a good alternative within 2 hours driving distance of Southampton?

What about looking for a huge self catering cottage with at least 6 or 7 bedrooms? Since there are so many of you the entertainment offered at Centre Parcs would be wasted. But with that many a beautiful mansion with it's own swimming pool could work well.

Centre parcs are a little fussy like that, I know them well and their attitude is that they get so booked up anyway, why worry !! Very arrogant, but this came from a friend of mine who works there (head office) I love CP, but have 2 kids and have never had your problem - sorry
