Ever been to Terre a Terre?

Yes it's vegetarian but IMO the best in the country, and I would challenge any meateater to not enjoy it.

You would need to book early.

website here

You can check out the menu from there. Descriptions of the food a little ridiculous and OTT but you'll get the idea.

Due South is great - right on the beach.

here

Or Hotel du vin - has a great bar area and cigar room too!

Gingerman is indeed superb. As is La Fourchette . If your visiting Brighton, Due South is really nice too and has a fabulous location overlooking the old pier.
