Argh - Lake Garda in the rain?!

The weather forecast for peschiera in just over a week is consistently showing rain. Great. We'll be there with dc, aged 2 and 4, who don't like swimming... ideas for rainy day activities please! We will have a hire car and staying in a mobile home on a campsite (most kids stuff won't be open yet though). Sods law the forecast for next week is in the 20s and sunny

From Peschiera you can dot about on the ferries to other lake towns so maybe a trip to Malcesine for the cable car trip to the top of Monte Balde
Also train to Verona (approx 20 mins) to explore the posh shops and the Arena area.
If you have a car and it's pouring, a longer drive to the Ferrari museum in Maranello near Modena is great (fab cars and not too expensive)

Lake Garda is breathtakingly beautiful. I'd get some descent wet weather gear and get out and about anyway. We had a washed out trip to Italy a couple of years ago and got some waterproof dungarees from JoJo Maman Bebe and some descent rain jackets and went splashing in puddles.

Woohoo! Weather now forecasting 23-25 degrees and sunny for most of the time bugger, I hadn't figured clothing for hot weather...

Gardaland could be an option if needed. Can't remember what is there for tinies. Otherwise boat rides, the cable car, and just pottering about whether in the pretty towns and villages, or on the rocks by the lake. Have a fabulous time!

If you go up in the cable car take warm clothes - we forgot that it would be a lot colder at the top (probably that goes without saying and nobody else is that daft, we didn't plan to go up though, just saw it and made a spur of the moment stop without thinking it through on a hot day at lake level!)

The campsites will have a ton of leaflets in reception - there is a big wildlife park, but it's mostly outdoors, and we stumbled upon a soft play bizzarly situated in a shopping mall... just ask at reception or your reps if you are booking through a company.

Hope the weather's good though - it's a lovely easy outdoor holiday with small kids in sunny weather, we go to the campsites in that area most years, but usually in May/ June and have rarely had more than one wet day.
