Water play on York

I was wondering whether there was any play fountains or paddling pool options for a warm day in York. Something like the Princess Diana Fountains or (even better) the Somerset House fountains in London. Otherwise wondering about swimming opportunities in general

We visit York fairly regularly and I don't recall seeing anything like that in the city centre.

There is nothing like that in York centre sorry. The nearest thing we have is the small water feature outside the art gallery. I have never seen anyone splashing in it though apart from ducks. There are some swimming pools but they are mainly in the outskirts. They have just recently closed the one pool with slides etc. Yearsley pool is good for younger families, or the university sports pool is good. HTH
