Having been to Majorca several times we're thinking of changing to Menorca (we like the flight times to these islands - not too long!).

Can anybody recommend nice family areas in Menorca - safe beaches etc.

Any advice welcome, thanks

Cala Galdana has a beautiful beach. I took my dss there when they were 3 and 4 and they lived it. It is much quieter tnan Majorca but it is really nice for younger children.

cala n forcat has the most fantastically safe beach. it's very small - just a wee cove really, but shallow for a long way out. it's very quiet too. would highly recommend.

don't go to Catn forcat, although its lovely, the beach is hard to get to.

ja9 did you not find it hard to get to the cove??

Arenal d'en Castell is fantastic. We were there two years ago. We were desperate to go back this year but couldn't get the flights! The beach there is great and the people are great with kids.

Have you tried this site? I use it a lot.

but tbh, having been to menorca a couple of times, to different places, have opinion that whole island is very family orientated. don't think you could go wrong...

erm, steps down to it just outside our hotel. gradual steps along a concrete path for the most part. found it fine. we had a disabled pal with us too and he managed grand. deffo worth the wee bit of extra effort imo.

Menorca is fantastic Chipstick.
We've stayed at the Seaclub apartments in Cala n Forcat twice, first time when 2 dd's were 4 & 2 and second time with 3 dd's, last one just 1.3 pools, ground floor apartments, busier and quieter areas. Air conditioned and cleaners twice a week.It is situated right at the end of the island by cliffs and not the place to go if you are looking for big golden beaches. the town itself, very lively lots of restaurants and water park and a little train takes you there and back from apartments.

ooo if you go to Cala n forcat check out the resturant on the main street that sell pancakes in the evenings, they are yummy...

Thanks so much for all your replies - I've certainly got some homework to do!
We're hoping to go in August so better get my skates on and book!

You are sure to have a lovely holiday there. It is great that the flight times are so short. I have great memories of Menorca when my dss were smaller.
