7am flight from Edinburgh to stansted with no luggage....

How early do I need to get to the airport? (It's this Sunday)
Ryanair are telling me at least 2 hours. Surely not?

Ordinarily I'd say 1 hour before but security at Edinburgh has changed and it can be hit or miss. I've had some crap experiences in the last 6 months although the last 3 times were easy. Sundays means holiday travellers rather than business commuters who are normally far quicker at getting their belts off, laptops out etc.

2 hours does seem excessive tho

It's going to be a shitty early morning start anyway so just as well to suck it up and get there the two(ish) hours early and make sure your not stressing getting through security.
