Easter week away with friends - where to go?

We are thinking of going away for a few days, up to a week, with one of DD's school friends and her parents (who we are now friends with also). The girls are 5 - well, DD will be during that week away, hence reason for trip really.

Looked at Alton Towers and Cenre Parcs but they work out so expensive for such a short period of time. So we are thinking of maybe hiring a cottage.

Easter, so weather may be hit and miss. Need something to do indoors and out. Don't want to spend a fortune, including when there.

But where to go?

Can we come too?

Looks nice. So annoying about how much the price jumps for Easter week!

How about this ? £1050 for the week but you can share it between 2 families - it can take up to 11 people. They also seem to be offering a 20% discount off the price over easter but don't know the details of it.

What is your budget? How many people in total? Which week in April?

Hulababy · 03/01/2007 22:53

6 in total - 4 adults (couples) and 2 5 year old girls.

Don't want to spend as much as £1000 for the week. I know I can rent cottages for a week from £350 a week upwards, but just not really sure whereabouts to head.

Will be very first week in April. DD's birthday is on the 5th, so plan to be away for that.

Would you consider a mobile home in the South of France ? frenchmobilehomes.com have lovely mobiles on Camping La Sirene in Argeles sur Mer, close to the Spanish border on the Med coast. If you are lucky with the budget airlines this can work out a very reasonable holiday & I know that Ryanair fly to Perpignan, Girona & Carcassonne which are all fairly close to this site. The weather is also quite nice at that time of the year, we were there for easter last year & I can remember swimming so it must have been quite nice.

DH, me and DD are off to South of France in the summer anyway, so prefer somewhere else for easter. Still think UK based might be best. Not sure on friend's budget right now TBH.
