We have decided that we can probably do a last minute Easter holiday.

We are five - two adults, a baby and a four and six year old.

Could fly for up to two and a half hours. Italy? Spain? Malta? Portugal?

Want warm enough for the kids to play outside. Also want sea. (Doesn't have to be beach).

Maybe all inclusive. Maybe self catering.

Happy with tacky.

Where should we go? Am totally stuck. Budget about 2k.

Flying from? 1 week or 2?
Can you all stay in a 1 bedroom apt (kids in lounge area?).It won't be warm enough to swim unless you find a heated pool, which would push the price up.

Start off with Thomascook.com for cheapest destinations and take it from there.

Ideally flying from Stansted, London City or Southend. Yep could all stay in one bedroom.
Didn't think about heated pools. Not done a package holiday since I was a kid - don;t even know what to look for.

How about flying a bit further to Cyprus? Likely to be a little bit warmer. I have used Thomas Cook the last couple of years, been happy with them.

If you can get a heated pool, the weather is likely to be warmest somewhere on the Costa Del Sol (Nerja, Fuengirola, Torremolinos), or maybe Benidorm area? Or Canaries, but that would be too far if you only want a short flight. Maybe southern Portugal too?

Have a look at www.holidayweather.com for weather history data. Try big brand package operators (thomson, thomas cook, first choice etc), at this late stage you will be looking at a last minute package deal rather than budget flight plus travel republic DIY option.

I've had a quick play around with the sites suggested and not much comes up and what does is much more than your budget.

Do you have a local high street travel agent. Our small town has a little independent one and they always have deals in the window. Might it be worth doing it the old fashioned way and visiting one of them to see if they can do anything for you.

If you are flexible with location and don't expect naice, I'm sure they'll find something to suit.

You can easily do that - we are a family of 6 and have done it for cheaper. We got flights via Skyscanner. Then got a Thomson brochure, looked up chains such as hipotel and looked on their websites directly. An aparthotel 4* all inclusive for a week is a few hundred only! We've booked private transfers, meet and greet parking and insurance. Really easily done and less than a 1/3 of first choice cost.

Flights to Majorca are only £495 plus cases. You could easily do it for 1.5k

Thomson's online have huge discounts on the Costa's at the mo. They have a two bed half board for 1.5K first week of Easter hols.

Thank you - will do some research. No need for naice - wasted on us at the moment...
