Amsterdam...does anyone know where to stay close to RAI centre

I need to stay close to the centre and most places near this are booked for the dates I need. Please can someone tell me where to stay - close to the centre and is it safe to stay further away and if so where to stay?

The novotel is a 5 -10 minute walk away from the RAI. AS is the Holiday inn..

Either way, you are only a 20 minute tram from the RAI to DAM square.

Personally, I always stay at the Novotel or get a Housetrip/Airbnb depending on who i am travelling with !
