Dh has booked us into a hotel in Cambridge.. Leaving this evening and staying until Sunday ...we've been before around 20 years ago and remember it was a good place to relax wander and people watch.
Weather doesn't look too great for next few days? Any recommendations on places to eat , lunch/ evening or things to do.

You don't say if it's grown ups or just the two of you. Assuming it's adults only Cau, St. John's chop house, the varsity hotel ( amazing roof bar if you get a dry spell definitely worth a look), Hotel du Vin, Browns - there's so much to choose from you can't really go wrong! Enjoy...

There's some lovely little cafes for tea and cake/light lunch - I love Afternoon Tease on King Street or Sticky Beaks on Hobson Street. Bread & Meat on Benet St also good if you like...well bread and meat! Walks around the colleges if fine, or along the river towards Midsummer Common and beyond. The Fitzwilliam Museum is a good wet weather activity. There's also the Botanic Gardens.

Kettle's Yard is one of my favourite places in the world but it's quite a personal taste.
