I don't know if this is a crazy question ,I feel so out of touch !

Son has been left some money ( several thousand ) and will be going on a 2 week holiday in America .

But I think lots of places ,motel? etc like you to use a credit card .But he's currently unemployed so I can't figure out how he'll get one .
Are there cards that you can load money on to and use ?

Anyone help me ?

Moneycorp do a US $ card. You pre load it and it's free to withdraw at cashpoints and use it as a card. I never had a problem with it in the US.

Oh thank you ! I'll google it .

The post office also do a card you can preload with dollars. I've used it all over the U.S.

Rus can you put quite a lot on it ? I imagine there's a limit .It's just that if he's using it to pay for accomodation ,he'll need a fair bit .

Wory ,worry ,worry .

Can you add him as an extra person on your card?

I did that for my sister when she went on holiday.

gingeroots · 17/02/2016 21:32

Oh is that possible ? I'll ring and ask tomorrow .Thank you .

You can put a few grand on it I'm sure. Plus you can top it up online from your bank account.

Lots of places do prepaid cards. Just google. Caxton and fair fx are 2 I use.

Another vote for Caxton fx, I used one when visiting the US last year. Had no problems with hotels/car hire etc with it.
