Should I take my chances at the airport?

I'm off to Italy for 4 nights, it was booked last year but then I damaged my foot so I'm having to take a mobility scooter. I have tried to arrange transfers but the quotes are coming back really expensive. Should I just take my chances at the airport? Do you think it might be cheaper?

Has anybody got experience of travelling with a scooter?

Could you hire a scooter in the resort? May be easier than trying to travel to your destination with one.

It's usually twice the price to book transfers at the airport. Italy was eye-watering when we went - we had booked but the company had a logistics problem. We paid three times more to book there, and had a five hour wait before they could take us.

(Insurance paid, thankfully).
