first family holiday

Looking to go on our first holiday as a family this summer my children are 1 and 4! I have no idea where to go! Cyprus and turkey are off the list dh is Turkish and wants to go some where different, any suggestions?

Spain is great - short flights, sun, relatively cheap and you can choose from Mainland or Islands. Can recommend Salou and Benalmadena for families. If you're after something less touristy Estepona is lovely.

Have also been to the Canaries but flights are longer and founds not as much for DCs to do.

We've been going to Ibiza from our kids were around the same age and we've always had a brilliant holiday. I was in Estepona last year and it was great too.

Greek island?

I was thinking Greek island but Spain is also a good idea I want to avoid the overly touristy resorts but still want the kids to have stuff to do!
