Hotel Orquidea, Bahia Feliz Closed on our dates!

I read a comment on trip advisor that the above hotel will be closed from end of April to start of June. We are travelling to this hotel on 2nd May 2016. I hadn't been advised from travel agents so I called to discuss and the agent was not aware either.
The agent returned my call to advise that the product change department will be in touch with an alternative property.
Has this ever happened to anyone and what was the outcome?

Don't be disappointed. It's shit! Sorry but it was awful when we were there. A total cattle market.

Oh well that's a relief ha, I just hope they can offer something else that is aimed at kids. Really want a hotel that will give my 3Yo DS plenty to do as he is very active and a lot of the other Thomson hotels in gran canaria don't look like they have much for Little ones

Get them to come up with a few options even if it is another island. Club magic in fuerteventura is good.
