Willing to go anywhere if these criteria are met...

  • budget to include food of £3000
  • 2 adults, 7-10 days in July
  • minimum of a king sized bed
  • wifi, in room and by the pool
  • somewhere I can sit and chill by the pool and read (not an activity or sightseeing holiday)
  • great food, preferably a buffet or a restaurant where I can adapt the dishes to suit my low-carb dietary needs.
  • no children or only well behaved children!
  • not fussed by 'entertainment' - we don't need fancy shows and animation teams, but they can be there if they are not annoying in your face types. Not a club med 18-30 type hotel or lots of chavvy weddings
  • not a huge distance from an airport, max 1 hour taxi transfer
  • a nice spa would be nice, but certainly not essential.

Any ideas Mumsnet folks!?

I went to a boutique hotel about 20 mins north of Florence that would tick all those boxes. I will see if I can find the name.

Le maschere. It was very nice.
