i have over 141,000 air miles with qantas. I now live in UK and cannot afford a holiday abroad at present to keep the balance active. Does anyone know or have personal experience with this situation? Can I book a hotel? Uk flights I have check are very expensive. I do not want to organise a holiday abroad at such short notice and as I am a single parent with a school aged child would not want to take my son out of school.

Can you buy a gift card?

Not sure do you mean to give to someone?

do you know anyone in Australia who will receive a parcel for you and send it on? If so, use the Qantas store.

when I hit this, I bought some stuff and paid the recipients with the spare points to send it to me. Win-win.

I think Trinity means use your air miles to buy a gift card/voucher, then use that gift card/voucher yourself (perhaps at a later stage).

That would certainly seem to be possible going by some of the write-ups and their own website.
