It Cyprus safe? Specifically Protaras?

Hi, thinking about booking a holiday to Cyprus, but a bit worried as it's so close to Syria etc. Would you go? Should we book it? I know bad things can happen anywhere, but it feels a bit scarier when it's so close to Syria. Thanks :)

im 99% sure im going back to cyprus in may and dont expect it to be any different

I live in Cyprus. Very close to Akrotiri and can hear the planes taking off on ops. We are all just carrying on as normal.
The Cyprus Tourism Org is expecting an increase in arrivals this season.
