if you can book the character tea party, we book spaces on this when we went and it was fab, all of the characters come out and sit with the children so that you can pictures with them, the food was just like a fancy teas party buffet lots of sandwiches, cakes, croisannts ,teas coffees and soft drinks, but it was soooo fab ds1 was very wary of the characters but he now looks back at the photos and says "this is me with xxx".

Do the parade one day only at each park, and then make the most of shorter queues during parade times the other days. We found that the Studios park is less busy so you get a better view and also get to meet more characters in here.

Do a character meal of some form instead of trying to chase characters round the park. You can waste whole days queuing for photos with Mickey and co.

Most of the little one's rides are in Fantasyand, right behind the castle. At that age DD adored It's a Small World.

Use Fast Pass for rides where you can, as some queues are quite long, such as Peter Pan.

For grown up rides use baby Switch, We found this isn't well signed or piblicised at DLP, but it is available on all the bigger rides at least. Just ask and someone will guide you where to go.

Thanks for giving me a pointer about the rides, what other rides do you think would be suitable, he is quite tall anyway for his age

I think all of the rides in Fantasyland have no height restrictions. So, the teacups, Dumbo, Pter Pan, Small World, Pinnochio and the carousel are all fine. Parents ride with children anyway. If DS likes dragons and thinks go underneath the castle - Sleeping Beauty's dragons are down there - quite dark, so need to be a bit brave but harmless.

There's the ghost house in Frontierland - not scary really. Pirates of the Carribean to see the pirates in Adventureland. And Buzz Lightyear in Discoveryland is fun.

Have a look on the DLP website. It has maaps and height restrictions on it.

If you watch the parades near the start where they come out, then you can get off and go on the rides while most people are still watching the parade.

You can hire a buggy but they don't lie back for sleepy toddlers and they all look the same, if taking your own or hiring consider a bike lock or a nappy smeared in brown sauce draped over the handle to stop anyone "borrowing" it.

If you are queing for ages and LO needs a pee, just head back out the line but don't be shy about barging back into the same place, continetal mums wouldn't think twice. Desperate children and rides don't mix, if you are nearly at the front of the queue wait until you get to the boarding area nd tell staff, they will let you come back in the exit and rejoin at the front if you ask and they understand you.

We never wasted time queing to meet the charactors, too many pushy parents who don't get queing so fighting ensues. We had a charactor lunch, good food (best we had all weekend) and the charactors come up to the table to no pushing and shoving.

we stayed in santa fe hotel, and we found that there was a petrol garage bout 5 minutes up the road, so a couple of times we went there and got sandwiches and crisps to take into the park rather then eat in the park which was quite expensive. And it was also quite handy to keep drinks in the room rather then keep spending loads of money in the hotel.
