Vienna in summer, is there enough to do for 11 nights?

Looking at summer holidays for DP and I for next year. Fancy something different to a beach holiday. Saw some deals to Vienna but we're looking for advice from anyone who's been for more than a few nights. Anyone? TIA

I lived in Vienna for 3 months in summer.

It was very humid and muggy and basically too hot to walk about. I would say that I could not spend 11 days on holiday there as much as I enjoyed it as a city. Its more of a city break music festival place - not really a summer holiday.

You would end up going to the banks of the Danube and laying out on the grass like everybody else who lives in Vienna.

Vienna is one of my favourite cities. There is a lot to do but I would hesitate to stay there for 11 days. Have you thought of going to saltzberg as well or perhaps taking in a bit of Germany as well. Watch the beer it's stronger than it looks and the pastries are heavenly

Do you like classical music/opera?

It has a really fascinating household waste incineration plant as well!
