Really struggling with next years holiday and we are tossing up between west coast usa , East coast usa and Italy.
The children have expresses an Interest in visiting Pompeii so I thought somewhere round sorrento ? Then I think another week elsewhere maybe Rome?
The only trouble is my boys don't like the heat so are unlikely to enjoy spending a whole day sight seeing in temperatures in the mid 30's

We've been to the Lakes but it was a bit dull for them and hot.

Last year we spent 2 weeks in rainy windy Devon and my dh refuses to do that again.

I always seem to struggle with finding accommodation for 5 .

Kids are b/g 13 yr old twins
6 yr old boy

Any thoughts?

We love Italy, but in August it pretty much shuts down, so while the tourist attractions are open, most of the shops and restaurants are not, which can be frustrating, so if you do book, check the area is set up for holiday makers. It is very hot so I would book somewhere with a pool.
