City breaks with DC

DH & I love city breaks but DC (14 & 11) don't share our love of aimless wandering and people watching.

What cities would you recommend to take them to?

We've been to Barcelona and Paris, both of which DC enjoyed. They liked Bruges for the chocolate but didn't like walking around. We'd love to go to New York but it's too expensive and I'd perhaps like to wait until they're a couple of years older for Amsterdam.

We're not into churches/ museums unless it's Le Louvre and I've been looking at Venice but DC aren't keen.

Was going to suggest Basel on another thread. It's lovely and I didn't find it exorbitant (but was only there for a day).

We went to Venice in Feb and it was cold but it was a gorgeous crisp, clear, bright cold.

Naples? That'll definitely be lively and not too cold.

Lisbon and Istanbul are wonderful, but given that you aren't interested in churches/museums I'm not sure what you would get out of visiting there, or Rome or anywhere like that as the main draws tend to be churches, museums or historical sights.
